Eugene S. Schneller earned his PhD at New York University. He holds an honorary physician assistant (PA) degree from Duke University. Schneller’s consulting efforts at Health Care Sector Advances bring the most recent strategic thinking into practice for hospitals, GPOs, and other supply chain organizations. He is Professor and Former Director, School of Health Administration and Policy, College of Business, Arizona State University, and former Director of the Division of Health Administration and Policy in the Arizona College of Public Health. He was formerly Counselor to the President of Arizona State University for Health Professions Education, Associate Dean for Research and Administration at the College of Business, and Director of the L. William Seidman Research Institute. Schneller has served as a fellow of the Accrediting Commission of Education for Health Services Administration and on the Strategic Planning Committee for the American College of Health Care Executives. He has been a trustee of the Barrow Neurological Foundation. He served two terms on the state Medicaid advisory committee (AHCCCS) and the Health Care Group. He was named, in 2007, one of the most influential individuals in the area of health sector supply chain management.
Todd C. Ebert
As president and CEO of Amerinet, Inc., Todd C. Ebert oversees the company’s strategic vision and operational direction. Under Ebert’s leadership, Amerinet is committed to becoming an industry leader by bringing together its employees, knowledge and resources to provide practical solutions to solve members’ healthcare challenges.
Prior to his current role, Ebert was Amerinet’s president of operations and directed all customer-facing functions, including sales and marketing. He also served as Amerinet’s executive vice president, responsible for contracting operations for all contracting and purchasing program development units, president of Amerinet’s private-label company, Amerinet Choice® LLC and vice president of Amerinet’s pharmacy program.
Ebert carries extensive knowledge in several aspects of the healthcare industry. In addition to his considerable group purchasing background, he has substantial supplier experience in the pharmaceutical and distribution industries, healthcare provider expertise in hospital and retail pharmacy, as well as international pharmaceutical consulting. He is currently the chair elect for the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA) and previously served as treasurer and secretary. Ebert was also a consultant to President Clinton’s Council on Year 2000 Conversion.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in pharmacy and business management from the University of Utah and a master’s of science degree in pharmacy administration.
Alan Yordy, FACHE
Alan Yordy has worked in the healthcare industry for 28 years. He is President and Chief Mission Officer for PeaceHealth, a healthcare system serving Alaska, Oregon and Washington. The system includes seven hospitals, one of the nation’s largest regional medical labs, and multiple medical groups and joint ventures. PeaceHealth has over 10,600 employees and an annual operating budget of almost $1.3 billion.
From 1999 until 2005 he served as Chief Executive Officer of PeaceHealth, Oregon Region, a division of PeaceHealth that serves Lane County and five surrounding counties. He actually began his healthcare career at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, Oregon in the early 1980s. He was one of the prime architects of Samaritan Health Services, an integrated delivery system in Linn and Benton Counties in Oregon, and served as CEO of Mid-Valley Healthcare from 1990-1997.
Mr. Yordy is currently a member of the Catholic Health Associate Board of Directors, the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and the Group Purchasing and Member Relations Committee of Premier. He was appointed to chair of the Oregon Health Council during the 1990s, and was intimately involved in the development of the Oregon Health Plan. He has also served as Chairman of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mr. Yordy grew up in the Midwest and then migrated to the West Coast. He was an Honors Graduate from Grinnell College as an undergraduate, and holds two master’s degrees from the University of Oregon, the most recent, an MBA. His leisure activities include bicycling, hiking and skiing. His wife, Joan, is an avid gardener and writer.
Alan’s community activities include longstanding involvement with Rotary and United Way.
Curtis Rooney is President of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA) and the Healthcare Industry Supply Chain Institute (HISCI). His primary responsibilities are to develop these organizations’ strategic focus and communications capabilities and increase public understanding of the healthcare supply chain. More recently Mr. Rooney was the Senior Associate Director and Counsel, Federal Relations, for the American Hospital Association (AHA). He was responsible for a number of issues including disaster preparedness, Medicare payment issues, medical liability reform, mental health services, telemedicine, and ERISA. Mr. Rooney was an attorney with the law firm of Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn, practicing in the Health Law Group in Washington, DC. He has also been Washington Counsel to the American Medical Association (AMA) in the Division of Legislative Counsel and Counsel to the Association of Private Pension and Welfare Plans (APPWP). Mr. Rooney has written and spoken extensively on politics, Medicare, telemedicine, ERISA, and healthcare reform. He sits on a number of boards including the Center for Telehealth and E-Health Law (CTeL). He received a Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University and Juris Doctor from The Catholic University. |
